We want to thank the Boutique Andiamo for being a part of this past third thursday wich was held at LAURA y LAURA. Of course, we want to thank all the people who stopped by and enjoyed food and wine and our new treasures.

It's natural beauty is compiled of some of the most diverse landscapes in all of Mexico. Michoacan is also world-renowned for its production of handcrafts. Currently there are more than 30 different varieties of handcrafts that are classified in such varied groups as pottery, metal work, woodwork, textiles and vegetal fibers. Most of these handcrafts originated prior to Spanish colonization of the state and, today, many of them are still being produced using the same ancient techniques

Artist Judy Moffson's work is constantly evolving as she moves from one collection of paintings to the next. Each collection consists of a single theme. The collection entitled "Mono" is a study of one predominant color made interesting to the eye by accents and texture. Another is "Le Cirque" wich was inspired by the famous Cirque de Soleil.

"I am inspired by everything I see" claims artist. She finds the venue of contemporary painting " exhilarating in it's freedom". She always listens to music while she paints in her at-home studio at various times of the day (or night if she cannot sleep). She wants people to feel good when they look at her work. She does not believe that she has to express heavy, dark or disturbing themes in order to be successful. In fact, many of her paintings appear to actually glow from within with a vibrant energy.

She says, "You have to search inside and see what is in there." This artist sees beauty in everyday life and when asked how it makes her feel to be able to paint like this, she humbly replies, "It just makes me smile."
